Alloc Flooring started off life in 1952, and similar to Meyer Laminate Flooring made wooden engineered boards for use in the shipbuilding industry. It was not until the 1960s that Alloc started production of a range of laminates and much later in 1992, it started production of laminate Alloc flooring products in its factory in Norway.
A major breakthrough in laminate flooring design was the development of a brand new type of laminate flooring in 1993, that of a click-together mechanism that allowed do-it-yourself enthusiasts around the world to fit their flooring easily and without the use of messy glues. Having been one of the first to use this new system, Alloc have continued to update and improve it over the past decade.
Today the product is recognized worldwide as being a quality product that can be used either in residential or commercial applications with confidence.
In 2004 the Company was awarded ISO 14001, which is an international standard for environmental management systems. The standard ensures organizations comply with high levels of environmental awareness, which is particularly important in this industry. By supporting environmental protection and pollution control, Alloc has shown a welcome respect for the environment.
